When you forget to use your brain, but not your company's email…… 🀭

Need context? Follow me! A few days back, I was having a chat with my friend so he started narrating an interesting incident ……….…………….

Well, I was scrolling through the inbox of the company's mail. While scrolling, an email caught my attention. When I opened it, I saw a colleague applying for a job role from the company's email. This left me stunned and laughing!!!

Nothing could be more humorous than this, you think? Hold on there's more to it! Just out of curiosity, I dived into details and his resume. His resume seemed to be a masterclass in chaos.

He had copied a template but forgot to remove the original name from other pages. This is what happens when a robber doesn't know how to robπŸ˜…. So the resume was, “Copied and sent by him, presented by (Random)!!”

After witnessing this peak comedy, I've a tip for you all! “When you borrow a template, at least remember to own it!”

Be clueless, but don't be brainless! πŸ˜‚

Is Being A Recruiter A Natural Talent Or A Learned Skill?

A recruiter is the backbone in recruitment, a hiring wizard and the bridge between candidates and companies. But how does one become a recruiter? Naturally, overnight or is it a skill to be learnt? So are the recruiters born or built over a period of time? The answer lies somewhere in between.

Natural talent in recruitment encompasses traits such as intuition, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills. These recruiters can effortlessly connect with candidates, read between the lines during interviews, and assess cultural fit with remarkable precision. Their natural charisma and communication prowess enable them to build strong networks and maintain lasting relationships, making the recruitment process smoother and more effective.

On the contrary, recruitment is undeniably a skill that can be honed. Knowledge of the industry, proficiency in using recruitment software, understanding employment law, and strategic thinking are all teachable elements. Many successful recruiters have developed their expertise through formal education, professional courses, and other development programs. With a creative approach, they learn to craft compelling job descriptions, conduct thorough interviews, and apply data-driven methods to source top talent.

Ultimately, the best recruiters carry a blend of natural talent and learned skills! In this dynamic field, a commitment to lifelong learning and adaptability is key to success.

ATS(Application Tracking System) Cons: Concerning Side Of The Coin!

ATS has immense benefits and advantages, but its disadvantages cannot be neglected, which might be enough to spoil the outcome of the work.

Heavy reliance on keyword-based filtering is one of the most significant downsides of ATS, because resumes that lack specific keywords may get overlooked, even if they possess valuable skills and qualifications. ATS is completely automated, hence it lacks the vital human touch. In case the document has complex formatting, then ATS parsing algorithms may not interpret the resume correctly, leading to lower chances of a potential candidate getting selected. Implementing and maintaining an ATS can be costly, particularly for small businesses. ATS tends to prioritize candidates with extensive work experience, potentially sidelining talented individuals who are early in their careers or looking to transition to a new field.

By taking into consideration the given disadvantages, we can conclude that ATS provides undeniable advantages in managing a large volume of applications, but it lacks human touch which evaluates candidates more fairly, knowing all circumstances.

Relocation: The process of shifting to a new location as per instructions by a company.

Want to begin a new adventure? Relocation will open the doors for you!

Relocation is an essential process in which employees shift to a new location depending upon the instructions and needs of the company. It is a common procedure used during transfer of an employee to a new location for work purposes.

If a company expects an employee to relocate to a new location then the procedure is as follows. The company informs the employee in advance to initiate this process depending upon the need. If the employee agrees to reallocate then the company either asks employees to get everything done on their own and later does reimbursement or assists the employee with the entire process with the help of their ties with packers and movers. Nevertheless, the company assigns a particular budget for this process.

However, employees are also expected to keep the company updated with continuous communication. It is important to make note of the deadlines set by the company and other conditions mentioned during the process of relocation. The company assists the employee in the process of relocation under company's supervision.

Recruitment is like a Marketing!

Candidates are not taking you seriously as a recruiter. Not able to interact confidently with candidates? Then this blog is for you!

What is a recruitment pitch? It’s a clear statement where the recruiter tells a prospective candidate about the company, the role, the company culture & values, etc.

These are a few tips that you can assume when practicing a recruitment pitch!
  • Greet the candidate: When reciting a recruitment pitch, you are approaching them because you found their profiles interesting. If you greet them in the beginning, it will give a friendly touch to your discussion. This ads personalisation that will capture candidates’ attention.
  • Company background: This part can help the candidate to understand about the company and to decide whether it would be a good fit for them. Highlighting good things about the company helps the candidate to take decision.
  • Finish it with the call to action: While ending the conversation, thank candidates for their valuable time and inform them further steps. Call to action can include taking an email confirmation, steps to schedule the interview etc.
The "pitch" is the first impression that a candidate has of the company, and hence it’s the first step in the application process. Candidates consider the recruitment pitch to understand the role and decide whether it is suitable for them or not.

Top resume errors to Avoid

Resume mistakes, at best, give a bad first impression; at worst, they’ll cost you the job.

Here are some common mistakes to avoid :
  1. Pass the 6-second exam: Recruiters spend only 6 seconds on average evaluating each resumeMake an instant positive impact.
  2. Don't include all work details: Don’t include the jobs that you had for a short period.
  3. Keyword use: Including too many industry-related keywords in your resume may impair its credibility.
  4. Bolding inaccurate information: Bold your position with the company rather than just the corporation you worked for. This is what the hiring manager or recruiter is searching for.
  5. Inclusive of personal interests: It's advisable to keep out your hobbies unless they're related to the job.
  6. Include a photograph: With the extensive usage of social networking sites, adding photographs to resumes is no longer necessary.
  7. Emphasis on Relevant  Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are no longer desirable skills. Instead, leverage that area to emphasize your industry's experience with more diverse technological tools.
That covers all of the most typical resume blunders. However, perfecting your CV is only the first step in your job hunt; you must also apply for the proper positions, create a compelling cover letter, and nail the interview.

All the best
