Top resume errors to Avoid

Resume mistakes, at best, give a bad first impression; at worst, they’ll cost you the job.

Here are some common mistakes to avoid :
  1. Pass the 6-second exam: Recruiters spend only 6 seconds on average evaluating each resumeMake an instant positive impact.
  2. Don't include all work details: Don’t include the jobs that you had for a short period.
  3. Keyword use: Including too many industry-related keywords in your resume may impair its credibility.
  4. Bolding inaccurate information: Bold your position with the company rather than just the corporation you worked for. This is what the hiring manager or recruiter is searching for.
  5. Inclusive of personal interests: It's advisable to keep out your hobbies unless they're related to the job.
  6. Include a photograph: With the extensive usage of social networking sites, adding photographs to resumes is no longer necessary.
  7. Emphasis on Relevant  Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are no longer desirable skills. Instead, leverage that area to emphasize your industry's experience with more diverse technological tools.
That covers all of the most typical resume blunders. However, perfecting your CV is only the first step in your job hunt; you must also apply for the proper positions, create a compelling cover letter, and nail the interview.

All the best
