The "Degree-First" Ghost Town

In 2026, 80% of employers now value practical skills over formal degrees. However, many old systems are still set up to automatically reject anyone who doesn't have a certain "pedigree."

"We have a skill gap of 47 million people, but our inbox is empty." 📉

The CEO is upset. The HR team is exhausted. But the "Filter" is doing exactly what it was told to do in 2015:

  • It turned down the self-taught developer because they didn't have a degree that took four years to get.

  • It didn't pay attention to the person who switched careers and learned how to use AI tools in six months but didn't have "10 years of experience."

  • It looked like a "perfect" resume that a bot created.

When you hire people based on their history (degrees) instead of their potential (skills), you're not only missing out on talent; you're also actively looking for people who are out of date. A degree from ten years ago is just a costly piece of paper in a world where technology changes every two years.

Stop hiring for where they’ve been. Start hiring for what they can do today. 🚀
